PATRON'S
MESSAGE 2006
The Annual General Meeting on 27th May marked the end of another happy
year and the seamless transition to a new one. Incoming President
Ian Newson has an energetic Council, and the good spirit within the Club
is shown by newer members coming forward to give their time and effort
in management.
Our club is essentially
one for members. We do not have poker machines and our bar trading is
modest, providing mainly for members and their friends in a relaxed
atmosphere conducive to fellowship and conversation.
We have excellent greens,
attractive well kept grounds and are sound financially. We welcome new
members (24 last year) and provide them
with free coaching so that they can play to their capacity. More
importantly, we give them a warm welcome to the club irrespective of their
playing ability.
The club plays in the
Brisbane District Pennants, Super Challenge and Westbowl, giving members
the opportunity to compete against other clubs at graded levels. Social
play is always available for those who prefer it.
Above all we look forward
to maintaining a sporting and social atmosphere that is attractive and
enjoyable for all members.
