Lucia Bowling Club is committed to reducing water use and
appreciates the funding we have received from Australian Government
Community Water Grants. The Club has implemented a Water
Efficiency Management Plan (WEMP).

Recovery
The St. Lucia
Bowling Club acknowledges with thanks the receipt of a $9,216 grant
from the Queensland Government’s Sport and Recreation Flood
Fightback Plan – Infrastructure Program, to enable repairs /
replacements to electrical fixtures damaged by the January floods.
The scope of works included

the
supply and installation of a new pump and associated electrical
controls which supply water to the greens watering system.

Cold
Room Compressor- Repairs, and
-
Main
Electrical Switchboard and electrical circuits- Repairs.
Water Wise – Use
of Town Water
The Club’s two (2)
No. 32,000 litre rain water tanks contribute approximately 30 – 35
% of the yearly total water quantity to irrigate the greens. The
remaining 65-70% is town water. In order to comply with water
use requirements, the Club:

Displays a sign that confirms our approved town water use

Has
a separate meter to record irrigation water usage.

Keeps a record of weekly water usage in a log book.

Only
irrigate greens at the specified times
-
Uses
alternative water sources (e.g. rain water tanks)
